Recipe for a Versatile Soap and Sugar Cleaner
Looking for a homemade product that cleans (almost) everything and costs very little? Here’s a super simple recipe:
First, grate a bar of soap (e.g., laundry detergent or seaweed soap). Place the grated soap in a small saucepan with a little water and heat it over very low heat until completely melted. Pour the liquid base into a container and add two teaspoons of sugar. Stir until smooth and even. Now add three teaspoons of laundry detergent and three tablespoons of dish soap and stir again. You’ll have a creamy, homemade cleaner, perfect for scrubbing stovetops, ceramic cooktops, stainless steel pans, and other heavily soiled surfaces. Apply a small amount to a damp sponge, rub it onto the surface, and then rinse.
