For stained or yellowed garments, the task becomes even more difficult. The first solution that comes to mind is bleach. Everyone knows that bleach removes any stain, but in reality, it’s better to opt for natural ingredients, which take us back in time but are truly effective.

Our grandmothers once managed to achieve enviable results without using any chemicals. To remove stains from white, yellowed, or dull garments, it’s best to avoid bleach, as it’s harmful. It should be used with caution, only when absolutely necessary. When using it, you also need to know the correct dosage, as you risk achieving results that are exactly the opposite of what you intended.
Natural alternatives to bleach, advice from grandmothers
There are many alternatives to bleach, which give even better results. Our grandmothers, for example, didn’t use a washing machine; many didn’t even own one. To remove stains from discolored or yellowed clothes, no washing machine or chemicals were used; just labor, a basin full of water, and plenty of white vinegar. Vinegar is a natural product that can neutralize odors and eliminate bacteria. It also has a bleaching effect that few people know about. To remove stains from clothes with vinegar, add 150 ml of white vinegar to a liter of water. Then, let the clothes soak for an hour. If you need to treat smudges or stains of any kind, simply add dish soap and then wash with plenty of water. For sheets, tablecloths, and curtains, grandmothers used cold milk. This was a perfect remedy for reviving bright colors and restoring their original softness.
How to use cold milk to remove wine stains.
Cold milk can be used to remove stains from any item of clothing before washing. To use it correctly, simply fill a container with milk from the refrigerator and let the clothes soak for half an hour. For stubborn stains, rub a cloth soaked in lemon juice on the affected area and then put the garment in the washing machine at the appropriate temperature.
Wine stains are very difficult to remove. Often, not even bleach can remove them. In this case, as absurd as it may seem, simply use sparkling water. So, before starting the washing machine, take a tablecloth, pour some water over it, and start rubbing. The results will be excellent. These methods are long and time-consuming, but they are the only truly effective ones that will allow you to keep your garments in excellent condition.
